Rhododendrons in Tabiernes Valley

Rhododendrons in bloom in Tabiernes Valley. This was taken on the lower slopes today 27th June, so my advise is to come in 10 days or so for a truly splendid show of pink bloom in the valley that climbs up to Señal de Viados. An alternative walk, also with good shows of rhododendrons, is up to Puerta de la Madera.

Lierga Massif

One of views from Lierga Massif near Saravillo. Starting point Santa Isabel. 2 and a half hour walk to top; steep and gravelly in places. Great views all round: Ainsa, Tella, Escuain, Pineta, Chistau, Peña Montanesa...At the top, lots of sheep and goats, who mistakenly thought we had salt for them. Bit concerned at one point that they were going to follow us down.

Bee Orchid

Apparently meant to look like a large bumble bee. We found it on the track just above the village of Saravillo. Quite difficult to spot unless you are really on the look out.
