A 2 hour walk up from L'Engrota.  Marmots whistled but there were no sightings.  We did see some "sarrio" Pyrenean mountain goats  at L'Engrota: they come down early morning and late evening for salt placed on large stone slabs, normally for sheep. Wherever you look the views are amazing; starting out from Gistain you see the Cotiella massif, then the Peña San Martin, the barns or "bordas" of La Comuna (the three villages of Señes, Sin &amp; Serveto), and then the village of Serveto. Luckily a few farmers' had already passed by before I decided to make a return visit to San Mames (hermitage and barns). The walk up was pretty but tiring even though others had forged a trail. What a constrast to see the green fields near Ainsa, sunny blue sky and the white capped Monte Perdido. The party runs from Tuesday 6th to Saturday 10 September 2005.
